I picked up a Delta 14" Band saw from guy at work. He's boarding a few extra horses and had to clean out the stall the goat was using and the saw was in the way. He knew it worked back in the 80s but had no idea. He was taking it to a scrap dealer who offered him $50 for it. I gave hime $60. From the SN it's a 1947 Delta Milwaukee Model 890 (I think), hidden under 3 coats of bad: green / red / black & original gray paint. Plugged it in and it works great, even tracks straight after adjusting everything. Still smells like goat right now. But I'll fix that this weekend.
Anyway it's in decent shape but does need a few parts. Specifically the pully #136 or part 41-144. Probably the bearings and spacers that go along it too.
Where can I get parts? Also - I'm a wood guy - never restored anything made of metal. Any guidance would be appreciated.

1945 Delta Bandsaw Mo. 890 by: Dave
I'm using my dad's 1945 Delta Bandsaw Mo. 890 to cut out duck decoys. I needed more height so I purchased the 28-984 Height Attachment Kit to add 6 inches to the saw. The problem is that my old saw's guilde post has a hexagon shape and the kit came with a larger round post. Are there longer hexagon shaped posts available? I can't find any for sale. Delta's website says that part is not longer available. Just wondering if anyone else has installed the same kit on their old bandsaw.
Thanks,
Dave Robinson

Delta Bandsaw by: Tom
I have a bandsaw exactly like this one. It has served me well over the years, but it is in desperate need of an overhaul. I would like to know where to get the rubber sleeves for the upper and bottom band wheels. Any help is appreciated.
