Craftsman Belt Sander /Model #207.2230

by Charles L. Goldstein
(Lexington, Kentucky)

This tool was made by The American Floor Surfacing Machine Company. The instruction manual inside an envelope post marked Aug 13th,1951. The catalog discribes the tool, along with it's construction. It list parts and an has an exploded diagram. It works and came to me in it's original steel box. It has streamlined design. It is the only one I have ever seen. It was made in Toledo,Ohio

Belts
by: NavyDavy

Bought this belt sander at a Thrift Shop for $20. Metal storage box, handle, latch, all excellent condition. Sander is in beautiful shape. 11 spare belts. :-)

I expect that it needs brushes. A little slow to start but we'll see how that goes after I take it apart, lube & measure brushes. It has a 3-wire cord which I don't think is original. Ohmed for shorts and to see if the ground pin was connected to frame. It is.

Brushes (T165) are available from
GraphiteStore.com
Manual available from:
http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/222/4365.pdf
Belts are marked:
Fine 3x27 9 22311
Medium 3x27 9 22312
Checking Grainger right now for a Norton number.
Mmmmmm, no luck so far.

CRAFTSMAN BELT SANDER
by: George Hawkins

Just before he passed away, a good friend gave me this crafstman belt sander, Mod 207.22301. I checked it over and found that it needed a new power cord. Replaced the cord. Works great now. This is a nice tool. Came with metal carrying case and operating instructions and parts list.
