Maybe an adze?

I picked up these two tools at an auction. They looked like they have alot of age onto them and proibably a bit of history. Any help would be appreciated

Maybe... I've seen adzes made this way from South East Asia hills people. The method of attachment is common elsewhere, too.

Unless someone has seen exactly these tools, it's very hard to identify them just from photos.
