Phoenix Hand Saws

by Jerry
(Iowa)

I have 3 hand saws with engraved handles. The head of one of the screws holding the handle to the blade has Phoenix, a symbol of a Phoenix, trade mark, and warranted stamped on them. Any ideas as to origin and value

Phoenix Hand Saw Handle
by: Athens Bernie

I have one that was my grandfather's then my father's. I've cleaned up the screws and emblem a bit, just enough to get the gross stuff off that's accumulated over the last century. Is there a way to post pix here?

can you help me identify the saw?
by: lisa

recently bought an old two man saw. Only identifying mark is one of the heads of a screw. It has phoenix on top, trade mark in the middle, warranted on the bottom a nice picture of a phoenix in the very middle.
A regular hand saw handle on one end and a fat straight hand sized handle on the other end.
If there is anyone who can shed light on this saw for me please feel free to do so.

Phoenix Hand Saw Medallion
by: Ron Talbot

Hi, From your description of one of the screws (ie: medallion) the saw was manufactured by E,C. Atkins & Co of Indianapolis USA. in the early 1900s. As far as value goes it depends on too many variables ie; the No.? of the saw, age, condition, etc, etc. I hope this may have been of assistance. Regards, Ron.
