Jul 26, 2008 Rating Wood Screw by: Ken Hi, I believe this is a screw for a bench vise. It could be a screw for any large old tool but the tail and face vise comes to mind. The hole in the head would be for a handle to rotate it similar to those found on modern woodworking vises.
