Walker-turner add a tool lathe with some of the add ons

This is a lathe which has add-on attachments such as a disk sander/grinder, a belt sander (which is Sears and Roebuck brand),a drilling chuck, and different taper tail stock, and 4 point head stock, with a reversible face plate or two, and assorted pulleys. I was hoping that maybe somebody might know exactly how the head stock comes apart so that I can change the very old and brittle drive belt, and change out the head stock with different accessories. the outboard side faceplate unscrews, but the shaft which connects it with the other headstock remains in place and I can't get it off. I took it to the local Rockler store and one of the employees there insisted that the oiler fittings were actually allen wrench fittings which held the shaft in place, and took a screwdriver and hammer to it to prove he was right. Now i have to replace the oiler fitting!! Any ideas? thanks

From your picture it looks like your lathe has been modified. The attatchment on the left was intended for a small table saw with opposite threading. The right side was for the chuck, it looks like in your picture it has been switched around. It all comes apart with pliers, screwdriver, punch, and time. Be careful not to loose the bearings which go on the left side not the right.
