Leaf Spring (part # 1536)

Leaf Spring (part # 1536)

This saw was my father-in-law's and was very well kept, I have used it a few times over the past year or so, with newly purchased blades and it worked very nicely. Unfortunately, the other day while using it, the Leaf Spring part# 1536 (thin metal support which connects to the lower hook assembly to the lower arm under the table) snapped.

The Leaf Spring is about 1" wide by 4" long and maybe 1/2mm thick with a slot/hole on one end and hole on other. I have the operating instructions and parts list documentation that came with it, but given the age of the saw I have not been able to find parts.

Does anyone know where I can find a replacement or someone who could fabricate one based on an existing or my broken part? I would love to keep this saw in working order.

Also would be interested in a replacement Upper hook assembly (part# 1508) this is the top "blade holder" assembly that holds the top of the blade into the upper arm. The leather piston (part# 1516) is pretty worn.

I have included a picture of each part.
