I've had this tool about 15 years, hiding in the garage- gotten from a tool swap. With the kid through college, and being 'between jobs', I've decided to haul it out, clean and set it up, and try some wood-turning (after a respite of some 40 years since jr high.

I've been able to identify it as a model #101.06241/2. What I have seems to be solid enough to work with (bed, motor, head stock (and spindle-bearings), tail stock). Have had to order a new start capacitor (it's a mid '60's motor), and have ordered 3-pos'n switch on line. It is missing:
- the cover to the head stock
- a good tool rest (I have some shop-fabricated, brazed pieces I'd rather not use.
- a good plan for mounting the lathe and motor.

If it is a reasonable thing to do, I would consider obtaining the features for making it a metal lathe as well (not sure about the bronze oilite bearings, though).

I know that this isn't a spectacular machine, but I like challenges, and it is within my budget (since it is already here). Words of encouragement and constructive advice are always appreciated.
