shaft removal by: Anonymous the shaft is a taper fit .....So its stuck due to probably being in place for years. You need to remove the four lower leg bolts so you can turn the table over ( motor and all ) set the table on a coupla pieces of 3 1/2 block so the existing shaft isn't bottomed out when flipped. put the nut you took of the shaft back on , don't tightn completely. Put some thing solid and flush against the nut ( I used 1/2 square bar ) and then tap with a lite hammer ...loosen nut, tap again...remove nut, shaft falls out .
