Shaper (model no. unknown)
I recently acquired this old shaper and am hoping to learn about it. There is no model number on it, only the Craftsman badge. I suspect it is quite old, maybe from the 50's or possibly earlier. It's in excellent condition and came with many 3 lip cutters, most of which appear to new/unused. The motor is also labeled Craftsman, 1/2 HP, 3450 RPM.catalog. no. 5608D, which is probably the original motor. I don't know if it is reversible, but the switch does not indicate that it is. It has a thru shaft, with a large pulley on one end that is currently belted to the shaper spindle and the other end has a small pulley, currently not connected to anything. There are also a lot of what appear to be accessory fittings, some of which probably would attach to a sliding jig, which I do not have. Some of these accessories may not be related to this shaper as I can't see how they would attach. Can anyone shed light on this? Model number? Age? Parts list that would possibly identify the fittings? Where can I find a sliding jig?
