WHB - Made in Germany

by Martin Loring

I have two nice old draw knives. One has a stamp on the upper part of the blade where only part of it transferred. Part of the die must have been above the blade blank and out of contact). The blade edge is curved and 24.5 mm across. It has fixed black wooden handles.

The part of the stamping that can be read is a WHB with a rounded corner rectangle. Below that is "Made in Germany". The start of what is supposed to be above the WHB rectangle is an arc of script saying I don't know what but probably ending in WHB. What can you tell me about the knife or company?
