May 20, 2013 Rating refurbishing wooden hand screws by: Tom Bonner I was recently given 4 18" hand screws 1 12" and 1 10". On the heel of one of the 18" clamps is stamped Wm. J. Hood Maker Valley Falls R. I. No. 5 The jaws on all of them are very similar One set of the 18" have the number 805 stamped into the heel of each jaw. The rest of the clamps have no markings on that I can tell (so far). I've been trying to get them all working using Johnsons Paste wax to lubricate the threads.
