homemade bandsaw

I bought this band saw at an estate sale. It is made almost entirely out of wood. There is no name on it except on the knob that is beginning to disinegrate and that says Chicago. I was wondering if you could tell me anything about it. It stands 38" tall, the base is 24 3/4" long by 8 3/4" wide. The shelf is 14 1/2" by 17 3/4". The wheels are 12 1/2" in diameter
