Dec 25, 2014 Metal cutting band saw by: Bugss It is a horizontal band saw used in cutting metal bar, pipe , plate etc. The metal bar would be clamped in the vise in the center and the saw lowered to cut. There is a counterweight on the hinge end to adjust feed speed. This style is still used today. Mystery solved.

Sep 11, 2011 Metal bandsaw by: Anonymous This is a metal bandsaw that was made by atlas clousing tool and machine of kalamzoo Michigan and the company is still operating. And it is a very good little saw to have I took a pics of pipe and cut off a pice so thin it was actually bending as it was cutting but like any tool it must be tuned it's a keeper

Oct 06, 2009 Power hacksaw/ metal cutting bandsaw by: Dick In the early 1960s I worked in a machine shop (HP Hoods) outside of Boston. The had one of these (not sure if it was a Craftsman) we used to cut 1" steel rods as axels for material handling, milk container carts used in their various dispersing outlets. If you don't want it I'd be glad to pay shipping to get it here. What I great machine to own.

Apr 15, 2009 Get it. by: Mike Tell your son to grab it. As previously stated, it is a metal cutting bandsaw and feeds itself through the metal. It is great for pipe and angle iron cutting. Wish I had the opportunity.

Dec 28, 2008 your sons tool by: David That is a metal cutting band saw- it uses it's own weight to feed the blade throuh the work(not a bad tool to have around).
